Horse owners must acquire a race spot, which costs $100,000, in order to compete in the event. There are nine available for purchase, with the winner of the CA$610,000 William Wellwood Memorial being the tenth.

On Saturday, August 27, 2022, the William Wellwood Memorial for two-year-old trotters and the CA$400,000 Peaceful Way for two-year-old trotting fillies will be held. The track will next hold the CA$525,000 Canadian Pacing Derby for three-year-old and up pacers on September 3, 2022, and the CA$600,000 Maple Leaf Trot for three-year-old and up trotters on September 3, 2022.

Nominations close on February 15, and finals come with CA$100,000 in stakes. The season finished on December 5, 2021, with a total handling of CA$505,348,339 declared by the business. This is the track’s third-highest total in its history. This was largely attributed to the track’s all-time high of CA$420,666,755 in international wagering handle.
