The WSOP ‘Reunion’ in the Rio will be a major feature of the first weekend, and Phil Hellmuth will be there.

Obviously, there are some modifications in this year’s WSOP. The series is being shown in the autumn because to the COVID epidemic. Vaccinations are also required by series officials, although no masks are required after a player has been inoculated.

It will be interesting to observe how this impacts turnout. Organizers had planned for the most attended event in the series’ history. COVID and vaccination mandates, on the other hand, may alter that.

A few notable players, such as Kristen Bicknell and Alex Foxen, have said that they would not participate this year. In any event, the vaccination need remains in place, and many players are eager to return to the game. Phil Hellmuth, a 15-time WSOP bracelet winner, is one of them.

He adds of the series’ comeback, “I adore it.” “I’m excited to resume my ‘quest for history’ at the WSOP.”

Players can discover a broad range of events this time around, with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $250,000. To welcome players back to Vegas, the WSOP organizers have scheduled a unique event for the first weekend. The $500 “Reunion” begins on October 1 with a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million. Here’s the full schedule for the series:

Players that are eager to get their hands on the tables

The festival’s comeback has been welcomed by many players. Daniel Buzgon of New Jersey arrives in Las Vegas on Tuesday after finishing third in the World Poker Tour Online Borgata Poker Open at partypoker US Network. He has a busy calendar of activities that he is excited to participate in.

This covers competitions held during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and elsewhere. The WSOP has announced ten online tournaments for Nevada and New Jersey participants, with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $7,777.

Buzgon adds, “I’ll be playing a combination of WSOP, Venetian, Wynn, and anything else that seems nice.” “I’ll probably include some online poker as well. All of the schedules seem to be extremely promising, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the statistics will turn out with everything going on.”

The Borgata Poker ambassador has eight WSOP Circuit rings and two runner-up finishes in the previous WSOP Online.

Darren Elias, a four-time WPT champion, is also looking forward to the WSOP. He may not be able to play poker for the whole summer due to family obligations, but he has a few events planned.

“I’m planning three different trips, each lasting around two weeks, and concentrating on the bigger buy-in no limit events,” he adds. “It’s difficult to leave the family for much longer than that on a single trip.

“I really like the No Limit 2-7 Single Draw tournament, so I’ll schedule it in as well. On days when the WSOP only has mixed events or lesser tournaments, the Aria does an excellent job of providing larger no limit events.”

From October 5 to November 14, the Autumn at Aria Series will include 41 events with a total prize pool of almost $1.7 million. For players seeking for something to do after the WSOP Main Event, the festival is hosting a number of activities.

“I’m interested to watch how the November post-lim tournaments go,” Elias adds. “After the Main Event, there have never been so many major events.”

WSOP.com is offering a Circuit Series Online in Pennsylvania Sept. 3-14 with 12 championship rings and $600,000 guaranteed.

Making preparations

Other players are preparing for the series as well. Shaun Deeb, a four-time bracelet winner, will also be returning at the tables. He even revealed some early lunch plans lately.

With the vaccination requirement in place, getting into the game might be a bit of a challenge. Daniel Negreanu, a six-time bracelet winner, advised patience and preparation. He recently offered several suggestions to speed up the registration process for gamers.

The WSOP is being streamed live on PokerGO.

Poker players and fans who are unable to go to Las Vegas will be able to watch the action online. PokerGO will once again broadcast WSOP tournaments live from the Rio.

On the network, viewers can anticipate daily events, beginning on Oct. 4 with the $25,000 High Roller. PokerGO will live broadcast 26 WSOP events from now until November 23.

This contains complete coverage of the $10,000 Main Event from beginning to end. Throughout the series, poker enthusiasts can expect 36 days of live broadcasting.

In April, the WSOP announced that CBS Sports Network and Paramount+ will broadcast 15 hours of the Main Event and 36 hours of 18 more gold bracelet events as part of their serial coverage of the series.

Those who are unable to attend the WSOP may participate in SuperDraft fantasy poker games. Throughout the season, the DFS platform promises contests for 18 events, including four distinct tournaments during the Main Event.

Users may choose players with different multipliers for each roster position in SuperDraft. The outcomes of the whole roster are used to determine a user’s performance.

The competitions are centered on events with greater buy-ins so that more well-known names may be chosen. Throughout the series, SuperDraft will provide $40,000 in freerolls as well as competitions with buy-ins. The $25,000 HORSE tournament kicks off the SuperDraft competitions on Sept. 30.

In addition, as part of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship tournament, the site is giving away a Main Event seat. SuperDraft has conducted several DFS competitions for PokerGO tournaments in the past, but the WSOP is the perfect chance to show off its poker DFS alternatives.

“The WSOP is when it’ll really start to get traction and take off,” says Ricky Stroude, SuperDraft Vice President of Player Development.

Vaccination status verification

CLEAR’s free mobile app and Health Pass feature are recommended for anyone traveling to Vegas for the series. Players may use the app to upload evidence of immunization to the site.

Once that’s done, gamers may go to the Rio’s registration cage tellers. On-site verification will also be available, although participants are encouraged to utilize the mobile procedure if at all feasible.
