As of yesterday, some of Canada’s largest casinos—including the River Rock Casino in Richmond, B.C., and the Golden Eighty Casino in downtown Halifax, N.S.—are once again open for business.

Since its opening, the National Lacrosse League has attracted fans from all over the world. The newest member of the NLL, the Calgary Roughnecks, have been attracting fans from all over Canada. Spanning from the Alberta’s Lacrosse Capital of Calgary, to Nova Scotia, the Roughnecks have proven to be one of the top teams in the NLL.

From Alberta to Nova Scotia, some casinos across Canada are getting permission for a new home. After more than a year, some aspects of daily life are returning to normal – or as normal as you’d expect. Among the announcements made this week was that gaming tables and slot machines in some Canadian casinos would be reopened to the public. Please note that not all facilities will reopen. Bars and entertainment venues are not yet on the list. But local casinos themselves will also be hosting guests in limited numbers, in a range of casinos from Alberta to Nova Scotia. word-image-3238

Reopening of casinos in Canada, beginning with Alberta

The news came out last week, and Century Casinos announced it Thursday. The company issued a press release stating that all of its casinos and racetracks in Alberta are officially open. Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton, Century Casino St. John’s De St. Albert, Century Mile Racetrack and Casino, Century Downs Racetrack and Casino and Century Sports Calgary open on the 10th. June 2021 will open its doors again. This is the first time since the 13th century that any of these facilities have been used. December 2020 welcomes guests. On that day, the Alberta government imposed a lockdown that included the mandatory closure of all gambling facilities in the province. According to the press release, the decision to lift the casino ban includes social distancing practices and improved health and safety protocols based on recommendations from Alberta Health Services.

In Nova Scotia, the casinos are open today

The Eastern Province of Nova Scotia is moving ahead with its plan to reopen stores this week. Great Canadian Gaming, the owner of the two casinos on the island, announced Tuesday that both casinos will officially open on Wednesday the 16th. On June 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., guests will be welcomed. Nova Scotia’s two casinos in Halifax and Sydney, which closed last April at the request of the province, will reopen today. Play capacity and food and drink offerings will be reduced to meet current constraints. Terrance Doyle, interim CEO of GCG, explains: We are looking forward to reopening our two casinos in Nova Scotia, putting our employees to work and welcoming our guests. We believe this important development is a precursor to the reopening that we also expect in British Columbia and Ontario, building on the success of the country’s immunization program to date.

Opening of the Casino québécois du Lac-Lémy 23 June

The next openings on the list are the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec, and the adjacent Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel. Both will open their doors on June 23, 2021. The casino imposes special restrictions to ensure the safety of all customers, including handing out rubber pens to all customers to prevent them from touching the slot machines. When it reopens, the Casino du Lac-Leamy will be able to accommodate up to 1,000 guests at a time, 250 per zone. Masks are required for all guests and staff on the gaming floor. As with the casinos in Alberta, all bars and entertainment venues remain closed at this time. The online booking services will take effect from 21… June for reservations. The casino expects the demand to be quite high, so it is highly recommended to make reservations at the casino.
