The Cascades Casino Resort has been closed since May of this year, and now it looks like it will re-open in July. The casino opened as the Langley Casino, in 1987, and was later renamed in 1993, after the former (at that time, much larger) Riverside Casino in Surrey, which had been constructed in the early 1980s. It was the first casino in the Langley area to feature a French-style bistro, and also featured an upscale lounge with a live band. The casino regularly featured daily slots, and hosted many high-profile events, including appearances by Prince, Seal, and Justin Timberlake.

Though they’ve been closed since last summer, the Cascades Casino in Langley will soon be reopening for business. The casino, which has been in operation since the early 1990s, will re-open in time for the Labour Day long weekend. The re-opening is scheduled for July 28, the same weekend as the Lottawatta Casino in Abbotsford, which is also set to re-open after closing due to construction.

Cascades Casino in Langley is set to reopen on July 1st following a four month closure and will be the first casino in British Columbia to be licensed under the newly adopted Gaming Amendment Act (GAA).

The eventual reopening of the casino was great news for the city.
