Canada’s horse racing Hall of Fame has been altered. The new amendment to the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame Act allows for more than one person to be inducted in one year, and anyone who is retired from riding horses can now enter into the same class. Fingers crossed that this change will keep up with modern times and make Canada a true global powerhouse as opposed to just being “the best country in North America.”

The “Canadian Horse Racing Association” is the governing body of horse racing in Canada. They have recently altered details about the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Read more in detail here: canadian horse racing association.

The modifications in the time and quantity of chosen inductees, according to the CHRHF, were made to enable for the complete and ceremonial induction of the 2020 and 2021 classes at an Induction Gala planned. This event will take held on August 3, 2022, prior to the following class’s confirmation. From May 1, 2022, tickets for the Gala will be available.

The organization also announces that nominations and elections for the 2023 class will resume their customary spring timetable. Four persons from each breed will be admitted into the class, and all participants named in the Halls of 2022 and 2023 will be inducted in a ceremony. In the summer of 2023, the event will take place.

The CHRHF Board also announced that various committee amendments for the 2022 Nomination and Election had been authorized. The Standardbred Nomination Committee is located here. Standardbred Canada’s Director of Digital Communications, Jeff Porchak, has been chosen Chair of the Standardbred Nomination Committee. Since 2018, Mr. Porchak has served on the CHRHF Standardbred Election Committee.

Kathy Wade Vlaar’s departure prompted the move, and the group commended Ms. Vlaar for her long-term devotion and dedication as a volunteer. Garnet Barnsdale, a racing writer and handicapper who has been a CHRHF Standardbred voter since 2015 and will be the next Election Committee Chair, will take Mr. Porchak’s place. Jennifer Anstey, Jean Kruse, and Jenn Buck will join the CHRHF as voters in 2022.
