It’s been a couple of weeks since I started my project to find a new data provider for the blog. I had a few criteria that I wanted in place when I started that project and I’ve interviewed a few different providers and I have a few down on the list but I still need to do more research before I decide on one. I’m hoping that the blog will be able to be back up and running in a couple of weeks.
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has added a new data supplier to its services, allowing the Crown corporation to continue to enhance its offerings. Genius Sports Limited, a data, technology, and commercial partner that links sports, betting, and media, has agreed to a multi-year agreement. The Crown is preparing for the introduction of single-sport betting in the nation with this move.
The BCLC is in charge of overseeing and managing all forms of regulated gambling in British Columbia, including land-based and online casinos, lottery offers, bingo, and sports betting. Genius Sports’ technology is utilized in over 150 countries across the world, delivering excellent services to a wide range of sports enthusiasts.
Getting Ready for Single-Sport Betting
Genius Sports has partnered with over 400 sports organizations across the globe, including the NFL, EPL, FIBA, NCAA, NASCAR, AFA, and PGA, to name a few. The Crown agency will now have access to the company’s cutting-edge LiveData and LiveTrading brands, which will allow fans to get real-time data and precise pricing on hundreds of sports events each year.
The new deal with the BCLC will also cover the sports company’s impressive portfolio of official data rights. The Crown corporation will then get access to the company’s data rights for the Canadian Premier League, English Premier League, Euroleague Basketball, and a variety of other international sports leagues.
Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, remarked on the company’s relationship with the Crown corporation. According to him, the agreement demonstrates how Canada’s burgeoning sports business now recognizes the value of official data in protecting athletes while also providing engaging and safe goods to the industry’s customers.
Mr. Locke went on to say that the company’s goods and services are fueled by the most up-to-date, accurate, and trustworthy data. He thinks that the business may greatly assist the BCLC and provide it a competitive edge in fully exploring the possibilities of Canada’s high-potential sports betting industry.
Betting on unusual events
The BCLC is constantly on the lookout for new and better betting options to offer its numerous gaming fans. The Crown has already disclosed the odds for its Expansion Draft wagering. On PlayNow.com, bettors could wager on who the Canucks would pick and who they would let go. Kole Lind, for example, has an index of 3.00/ +200 and was the team’s most favored option versus players.
Prior to this, the Crown’s official site offered a variety of unique wagering options, including wagers on the most recent Oscars ceremony. Many categories were predicted by cinephiles, with Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress attracting the greatest public interest and accumulating the highest wagering volume.
