2019 has been a breakout year for American poker pro Ali Imsirovic. The $25,000 WSOP Main Event bracelet winner and first-time cash game pro is bringing the party to one of the biggest new online games on the market: PokerGo. He joins recent winners like Daniel Negreanu, Bryan Culligan and Jimmy Nguyen as just some of this season’s big names that have made their mark in an industry more open than ever before thanks to blockchain technology.
Ali Imsirovic has been named the PokerGO Player of the Year for 2018. The new season of PokerGO is set to start on January 2nd, 2019.
Ali Imsirovic won the Player of the Year award on the PokerGO Tour (sponsored by Guaranteed Rate) at the end of the 2021 season. Over the past several years, the high roller regular has been one of the most successful players in poker.
“To be honest, it still seems fairly unreal,” Imsirovic said in a statement. “I never imagined I’d be able to achieve such greatness in poker.” The next step is to just keep striving to improve, consolidate, and prove that I belong here.”

Imsirovic has ruled the poker tables for the last year. There have been 14 triumphs, 34 cashes, and almost $6 million in live tournament winnings on that record.
Imsirovic ended the year with 4,364 points, about 1,300 more than his nearest challenger. His victories in 2021 occurred on a variety of major event stages, including:
- Aria High Rollers is a casino in Aria, California.
- High Roller Venetian
- The US Poker Open is a tournament held in the United States
- PokerGO Cup is a tournament hosted by PokerGO.
- Europe’s Super High Roller Bowl
- High Roller in the WPT Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open
Before his family relocated to Vancouver, Washington, the poker sensation was from Bosnia. Imsirovic will get an extra $200,000 in prize money if he wins POY.

Michael Addamo of Australia came in second and took home a $100,000 award. A late charge at the World Series of Poker propelled him ahead of Sean Perry into second place.
Perry had been Imsirovic’s closest rival for the whole of 2021, but he ended third for an additional $50,000.
The PokerGO Tour made its debut this year. There were more than 17,600 entrants in 143 competitions this season. The buy-ins ranged from $10,000 to $300,000, with a total prize pool of $262 million and 87 different winners.
Rok Gostisa wins the Tour Championship.
Rok Gostisa of Slovenia won the $50,000 PokerGO Tour Championship on Dec. 21 in Las Vegas, bringing the season to an end. The tournament was the last of the first season’s competitions.
Gostisa won $689,100 in a field of 46 entrants, with Michael Gathy coming in second for $598,900. Gostisa needed to comeback from a low stack as the final table started.
“I didn’t expect to win since I finished seventh out of seven,” Gostisa said.

The win was Gostisa’s biggest in live poker, and it occurred at the end of a breakthrough year. He has never had a year with more than $74,000 in live tournament wins before to 2021. The PokerGO victory boosted his live winnings to $1.6 million for the year.
“I was essentially only playing online and didn’t travel because of COVID,” Gostisa said. “This year has gone extremely well, so I’m really pleased with how things have turned out.”

The second season begins with the inclusion of a new character.
Year two of the PokerGO Tour begins on January 5 at the Venetian in Las Vegas, after a successful first season. During the inaugural season, the facility will host a number of events, including four high roller tournaments from January 5 to January 8.
The new Stairway To Millions, PokerGO Cup, PokerGO Heads-Up Championship, Aria High Rollers, Super High Roller Bowl Russia (sponsored by Luxon Pay), US Poker Open, and Super High Roller Bowl VII are all part of the first half of the season.
“The PokerGO Tour’s maiden season won more than a quarter of a billion dollars in prize money, exceeding all expectations,” stated PokerGO President Mori Eskandani.
“The sport of poker necessitates that we honor those who excel at the highest levels of competition. We’re eager to raise the bar in the PokerGO Tour’s second season and continue to showcase poker’s top at the game’s highest stakes.”
Only events with buy-ins of $10,000 or more are included in the tour, which ranks the game’s top players. Players at the top of the leaderboard in 2022 will discover something new.
In an unique end-of-season event, the top six scorers will compete. The amount of points accumulated during the season determines the starting chip stacks.
On the PokerGO platform, which is accessible on mobile devices, computer browsers, and smart TVs, several events in 2022 will be televised live.
